Why There’s a $2 Membership Fee
Under BC’s Motion Picture Act, unclassified films can only be shown through a registered non-profit film society. To comply, screenings must be limited to members aged 18+ with an annual membership.
Your $2 fee makes you a member of the New West Film Society, which:
-
Fulfills the legal requirement to attend unclassified films
-
Allows us to present a wider range of stories to the community
This nominal fee also helps support our volunteer-run, non-profit festival.
