Welcome to the New West International Film Fest

New West International Film Fest is the flagship event of the New West Film Society—a lively, three-day celebration of independent cinema held every October in the heart of New Westminster.
 

Known as a true “filmmakers’ festival,” New West International Film Fest showcases powerful films with local relevance, bold narratives, and global perspectives. From narrative features and experimental shorts to meaningful documentaries, our programming brings together stories that often go unseen on local screens and at larger festivals. Whether you're a cinephile, a curious newcomer, or a filmmaker yourself, you'll find a welcoming space to connect, question, and be inspired.
 

Beyond the fall festival, NewWest FilmFest also contributes to a wide array of cinematic experiences throughout the year, including National Film Day in April, Landmark Cinema partnerships, and community-driven screenings.
